My Story

Welcome to “My story”. I am inspired by an idea that is rooted in my life without Grandparents. I suppose you can’t miss something you didn’t know about, but I have wondered what it would be like if my Grandparents could share their thoughts and lives with my family today. Hopefully, this site will serve that purpose and perhaps some unforeseen ones along the way, too.

I know this – I wish I had my Grandparent’s stories to read. Don’t you?

I never knew my Dad’s parents and I only met my Mother’s Mom once when I was four, so there is not much memory of her. I met Mom’s Father twice, once when I was four and again when I was 27. We did not speak each other’s language.

Basically, there was little wisdom passed along, and that’s a shame. Just think what it would mean to me if my Grandparents had written notes for me to read and left pictures for me to see! That’s why I’m putting this site together.

Don’t get me wrong, I intend to be there for my Grandkids and deliver many loving talks and to listen to their lives, but this is something that will be there, regardless. We don’t know how life will unfold, so putting down thoughts and ideas now will be some little ‘extras’ for those who travel life’s path after me.

Memories are a funny thing. It’s the ones that make an impact on us that stick.    Kurt

So, if for no other reason, my story is being compiled retroactively for my grandkids sake. See “Life Chapters” on the Menu bar above for various time periods.

You may find it of interest, or not, but my bet is that they will!
